His Excellency Dr. Bandar Al Fuhaid – President of the Arab Tourism Organization at its headquarters in Jeddah – on Wednesday evening, 12/04/2024 AD, signed an operational contract with the “Management Quality Applications Company”, one of the “Wadi Makkah” companies, at “Umm Al-Qura University” to manage the “Tourism Quality Award”. This award comes within the activities and initiatives. “The Arab Tourism Organization” to advance the tourism sector and its workers in the “Arab world” by setting the standards for the “Tourism Quality Award” and urging them to work and apply them. Through its standards and requirements, the award aims to advance the tourism sector in all its fields and service and production components to ensure its quality, preserve the rights, security, safety and happiness of tourists, make tourism available to all, and achieve sustainable Arab tourism development. The award’s axes consist of eight pillars that form the wheel of tourism development:
– The quality of regulations and laws supporting tourism and tourists’ rights.
– Quality of tourism services and products.
– Quality of tourism management of establishments, travel agencies and tourism companies.
– Quality of tourist destinations and destinations.
– Quality of transportation, means and ease of access.
– Quality of all types of housing, restaurants and tourist facilities
– Quality of trips, guidance, initiatives and tourism information.
– Quality management and transfer of tourism knowledge and experiences.
The award coincides with the preparation of human cadres capable of applying quality and tourism excellence standards through qualifying programs and diplomas for individuals as certified specialists and evaluators in quality and tourism excellence to qualify companies according to their standards and facilitate the applicant’s access to them to enhance confidence in his practices, services, products and management in accordance with their standards.
